The Lende Mkukankhana Foundation is a community-rooted, non-profit organization based in Mchinji, Malawi, committed to transforming lives through education. We were co-founded by Grey Watson, a passionate advocate for children’s rights and rural development. Our work began with a simple, powerful realization: many children in Malawi are full of potential but held back by poverty. They walk long distances to school without shoes, share worn-out books, or miss class entirely because of unpaid fees. Rather than accept this as normal, we chose to act. We launched the Foundation to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity and to push children forward, just as the proverb “Lende Mkukankhana” reminds us.
